Pentax K1000 Vs. Minolta SRT 101?
I already know most of the basic principles of photography aperture / ISO / shutter speed / white balance ... you can check my photostream on flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ography4fun and I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ28, and I use the manual settings for my photography and I love the camera but I want to get an SLR, and I've heard good things about both Minolta srt 101 and how much Pentax K1000 so which one is better? which should I buy? and disadvantages and advantages? I-15 if it matters.
They are both good quality, old style manual SLR cameras. I've seen plenty of both, since I have been teaching photo for over 15 years. I would lean towards getting the Pentax K1000. I like the simple layout of the camera and Pentax mount for lenses are called "k-mount is very ample and not just Pentax brand but many others use "k-mount for their lenses as Ricoh, Chinon, and for a period of Sears. Also is the k-mount lenses made by respected independent lens makers Tamron, Sigma and Tokina. Below I listed some links to websites of photo retailers who sell used equipment and l included links to Tamron, Sigma and Tokina. You can also try ebay and craigslist to find a secondhand market. The Pentax K1000 is a somewhat high dollar from used dealer so there may be a demand for it, shop around and get a good deal. Feel free to contact me if you think I can be of any help.
