Learning Photoshop Through Video Tutorial

How do I upload pictures from my camera to my Kodak Easyshare program on my computer?
I have read the instruction manual that says the software will ask me through the process when I connect the camera to the USB cable, but nothing happens. I've seen the tutorial twice and even tried kodak website for more help but got nothing. Everything is installed correctly because my friend was able to transer her pictures on my computer but I'm not. What am I missing?
