Because digital cameras have so many features and do many different things, it can become confusing when you try to decide which one is right for you. Many cameras allow you to shoot photos with a range of options for resolution. If you know you will just use the camera to e-mail images for your family and friends, you can use a lower resolution. If you plan to print your photos, you need a higher resolution.
This can also help you decide which type of camera you are looking for. If you know you want to print a lot so you want to look for a camera with high resolution and the greater print higher resolution, you will need. The resolution you need depends on the size you want to print.
Apart from the decision there are other things to consider when you want to print a high quality photo. Proper lighting is very important for all types of photography. A 2 megapixel camera can print an okay quality 8x10 photo, but is best for a 3x5 photo. A 4 megapixel camera can print a fantastic quality 5x7in photo and a descent 11x14. A 6 megapixel makes a large 8x10 and an 16x20 descent. Of course if you are looking for even larger images, just keep going up with megapixel counts.

I plan to buy a new digital camera for my upcoming trips. there are some good places I can searching for a camera that fits my needs. Image stabilization will not allow you to take perfect night shots. For that to a tripod or something set the camera on will still be needed. Image stabilization is not a miracle worker.
