Digital Camcorder Battery Usage Tips

15. When you charge your camcorder batteries occasionally discharge them fully before being recharged. This is especially helpful to NiCad batteries. Be careful not to meet too deep. (Less than 1 V per cell for NiCad and NiMH. For example, a 3.6V pack to no less than 3v.) Discharging to absolute zero will make your battery useless. It is best if you have a charger with a conditioner that will cycle the digital camera battery for you.

16. Be sure to store video camera batteries properly. Do not leave your batteries in a hot car, or in humid conditions. The best storage conditions are a cool, dry place. The refrigerator is fine if you stick in a packet of silica gel with your digital camera batteries in a sealed bag to keep them dry. It's a good idea to charge your NiCad or NiMH batteries fully before use, if they've been stocked.

I just got a Kodak Easyshare Z8612 apparently eats batteries like crazy, but when I got it a few days ago is still alive CR-V3 battery that came with it. So far it is working pretty well, but I was just wondering if there is a compatible Rechargeable CR-V3 battery that works with this camera because I do not want to end up spending a lot of money on the disposable CR-V3's.
