Camera Mount - Use Your Tripod For In-Car Video Capture
In car video recording (by video camera to capture the scenery as you drive along) is a new digital photography technique. The in-car video application requires a stable, secure and reliable mounting solution for capturing high-quality recordings without being a distraction to the driver. Some in-car video mounting solutions may require specialized video cameras and fixing them, while others let you use your existing camera and tripod.
Rack-based in-car video camera mounts can allow more flexible camera angles by positioning the tripod head. For example, you aim the camcorder and tripod head to capture landscapes through the windshield, behind the windshield, or through a side window with different perspectives based on where the best scene is and which direction to run in.
Suction based video camera mounts typically do not provide this adjustment of camera angle when the camera is near the windshield or movement of the mounting mechanism is not adjustable.
Rack-based in-car video camera mounts typically require a tripod braces on the rack. Leg-braces are common on cheaper tripods, as they are designed to provide increased stability to the photographer / photographer by locking in place. However, some expensive tripods no leg braces because they are intended for use by professional photographers, who can work in a row different locations, requiring maximum adjustability tripod legs.

3-Axis Heads To enable positional control of your camera Angle
3-axis head provides control along the three X, Y and Z axes, so it's easier to adjust your camera angle. Is a typical camera mount 1 / 4 "or 3 / 4"?
I need a replacement quick release mount for my Canon 40D, and I need to know the size of the screw mount. Is it 1 / 4 "or 3 / 4"?
The thread is 1 / 4 - 20 This means that it is 1 / 4, but without "20" in line will not line up & the strip when you try to use it. Now, this only matters if you go to the hardware store to manipulate something. If you go to a camera store, marked by the rack or model of the head would be important information. Without this, the 1 / 4 "will not matter.
